Lisa Isaksen, PMHNP
I’m excited to introduce myself as a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a background that spans 25 years in nursing, including specialized experience in psychiatric nursing, intensive care, and the operating room. My journey in healthcare has been rewarding, with the past decade spent as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) since earning my certification from Georgetown University in 2015. Over those years, I saw the need for more timely access to mental health care and medication management, especially for patients who faced long waits for psychiatric services.
This observation inspired me to pursue further training in mental health, and I recently completed my PMHNP certification. Now, as a PMHNP, I look forward to supporting patients of all ages by offering personalized medication management and treatment options for a wide range of mental health concerns. My goal is to provide integrative, compassionate care that meets the unique needs of each individual and contributes to the wellbeing of our community. I’m here to help people receive the mental health support they deserve in a timely and caring manner.
Along with my dedication to healthcare, family is a big part of my life. My husband, David, and I have been married for 30 years, and we have two adult sons who are now living on the East Coast. Although they’ve moved away, they’ve left behind a few reminders — our family pets, including a cat and two lively dogs, Buddy and Karl, who keep us entertained daily. Originally from the Seattle area, I’ve enjoyed building a life here in Idaho with David, embracing the mountains and skiing.
Travel is also something I cherish, and we’re fortunate to have a family home in Norway that we visit as often as possible. I look forward to working with you and am committed to providing care that’s both compassionate and integrative, drawing on a rich background in family and psychiatric practice to help you meet your health goals.
